Leon Russell passed away over the weekend at the age of 74, ending a musical career and life that featured notable work with the likes of Joe Cocker, The Beach Boys, Edgar Winter, Willie Nelson and many others.
Russell’s wife, Jan Bridges, released a statement today thanking fans for their support during the difficult time. “We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this very, very difficult time,” Bridges said.
“My husband passed in his sleep on our Nashville home. He was recovering from heart surgery in July and looked forward to getting back on the road in January. We appreciate everyone’s love and support.”
