Starting this afternoon at 4pm ET SiriusXM’s Jam_ON will host a Roots of the Jam Weekend. Along with Jam_ON’s steady musical favorites, the channel will offer selections from the jamband scene’s progenitors from the 1960s and 70s. Music will be curated by the Relix editor (and Jambands.com founder) Dean Budnick, along with David Gans and Gary Lambert from the Tales from the Golden Road. Beyond the good ol’ Grateful Dead, one can expect to hear the sounds of electric Miles Davis, Lou Donaldson, Grant Green, Paul Butterfield Blues Band and many others.
