Bob Weir has granted the city of Mill Valley, CA rights to build a path through his Middle Ridge property. According to an article in the Mill Valley Herald, a March 5 City Council meeting passed the decision to allow a path to run through two Middle Ridge neighborhood properties, one of which belongs to Weir.

The decision comes after years of legal conflict over a public path between Tamalpais and Myrtle avenues used for evacuation in the case of a fire or other emergency. However, those hoping to trek through Weir’s property should read the fine print: the path will not be open to the general public or used by organized groups. According to the easement documents, the path be will reserved for use by Middle Ridge residents only, adding that the property owners may install gates at either end of the path.
