Onetime Dirty Dozen Brass Band drummer Terence “swamp grease” Higgins has spent most of 2011 on the road with Warren Haynes Band. He also spent time in Europe earlier this fall touring as part of John Scofield’s latest ensemble. This Thursday, December 8, Higgins will host a special homecoming show featuring several of the players he has collaborated with his year. Billed as Swampgrease Returns, the show will feature Higgins’ Warren Haynes Band/John Scofield collaborator Nigel Hall on keyboards and vocals as well as Dumpstaphunk bassist Tony Hall (Dumpstaphunk) Danny Able and Andrew Block will round out the group on guitar. Higgins promises a night of “raging night of funk, soul and RnB.”
