On September 22, Hiro Ballroom will host the first-ever POPs Ball. This event offers not only a nod to Louis Armstrong, nicknamed “Pops” but also to the MOMs Ball, which took place for many years in New Orleans, during Mardi Gras, featuring music from the Radiators. While that group is no longer performing, the Radiators’ Dave Malone has been enlisted, along with John Gros (Papa Grows Funk), and DJ Logic who will join Anders Osborne and his group. The Outer Borough Brass Band will open the night and additional guests are expected as well.
