Earlier this year during Jazzfest, New Orleans-based Groovesect performed a special gig at Tipitina’s. There the group was joined by Leo Nocentelli, Theryl ‘Houseman’ Declouet, Fred Wesley and the Dirty Dozen horns. Later this month Groovesect will head up to New York City and bring some of these players along for the ride. On August 28, Nocentelli and Houseman will appear with the group during its show at Sullivan Hall. A clip of the Tip’s show with the two guests can be found on YouTube.
