Widespread Panic has issued a new song as part of the AthFest 2009 benefit CD. The song, Misdirection, was recorded with Terry Manning at Compass Point Studio in the Bahamas while the group was working on 2008s Free Somehow and, as of press time, has not been played live. Other artists featured on the AthFest compilation include: Patterson Hood, The Corduroy Road, The Arcs, Holy Liars and Jesse Mangum, among others. Proceeds from the charity disc will benefit music and arts educations for the citizens and visitors of Athens, GA.
