Relix and Jambands.com celebrated their official re-launch last night at New Yorks brand new 675 Bar. The evening featured DJ sets by several different musicians profiled in the pages of Relix, including Marcus Congleton (Ambulance LTD), Marc Friedman (The Slip), Josh Garza (The Secret Machines) and Tommy ‘TNT’ Brenneck (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings). The events guest list also boasted the likes of Mike Gordon, Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits), Reid Genauer (Assembly of Dust), Scott Metzger, DJ Logic, Jared Tankel (Budos Band), Ryan Miller (Guster) and rock scribe Anthony DeCurtis, as well as the people responsible for Bonnaroo, Rothbury, HeadCount, Jambase.com, Glide Magazine, Outside Lands and Brooklyn Bowl.
On behalf of everyone at the newly formed Relix Media Group, LLCwe call it 3.0 around hereI want to express our appreciation to you, our readers, said Peter Shapiro, the new Publisher of Relix and Jambands.com. We live in difficult times and, as we have all heard, many are predicting the demise of magazines. Well, in many ways, Relix has always gone in a direction away from the mainstream and popular belief, forging its own path. Now is no different. Despite the dire warnings and predictions, we have faith in the power of our community: the fans, musicians, industry and most importantly… Relix!’
