Mike Gordon, John Popper and Joe Russo all joined Chris Barron & the Time Bandits last night at New Yorks National Underground. Popper sat in with the group for its entire free performance, with the exception of the ballad Cant Kick the Habit (when the harmonica player ironically left the room to smoke a cigarette). Gordon emerged early in the night to join the ensemble for a set of songs that included Bens Looking Out the Window Blues and Gorilla Boy and later retuned with Joe Russo for How Could You Want Him When You Know You Could Have Me? Gordon also played with the Time Bandits at the National Underground in late April. The Time Bandits weekly residency at the National Underground will continue next Tuesday. The group will also appear at Sunnyside, NYs The Diving Bell this Friday.
