We will continue to highlight the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival throughout the week. While a number of interesting collaborations took place at the Fairgrounds, some of the weeks most interesting performances were part of the late night Backbeat Jazzfest series. Adam Deitch, Ian Neville, Big Sam and Nick Daniels (Dumpstaphunk) played an intimate gig together at the Blue Nile Upstairs as The Quartet, while DJ Logic sat in with Medeski, Martin & Wood for most of its set at the the Studio at Colton Theater. Troy Trombone Shorty Andrews also made a guest appearance with Jonathan Batiste in the Red Ballroom at Colton. Other standout shows in the series included Steve Kimock Crazy Train, Ghostland Observatory, and Bustle in Your Hedgerow.
