Last week, bassist Bryan Dondero announced his resignation from Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. A revealing article in the Burlington Free Post provides some additional insight into Donderos departure, including his hesitation to sign with Hollywood Records. I was always a little skeptical, the bassist tells the paper. The article also mentions that Dondero opposed a label suggestion for the band to tour with Kid Rock, a decision he know describes as stupid. In addition, Dondero points to some fractures in the bands fraternal bond as Potter blossomed into a star. I started feeling like I was losing my trust in her, he says. I felt that she was keeping things from me. Those things included her appearance on the television show One Tree Hill, which Dondero apparently learned about on the internet. Dondero also tells the paper that if he did not leave the Nocturnals on his own, he likely would be asked to leave the group. I dont hold any animosity toward them, Dondero admits. I told them that in my official note to them, that I still love themthe good memories far outweigh the bad crap that went down. The bassist will perform with the band Farm at Winooski, VTs Monkey House on April 3.
