Last Friday, Keller Williams hosted his 8th Annual Holiday Benefit in support of the SPCA of Fredericksburg. This show included not only a Keller solo set but an appearance by Grunge Grass, which offers ‘bluegrass versions of 90s alt radio hits.’ Williams was joined by Claude Auther on bass and Jay Starling on dobro for a set that drew heavily on music from Nirvana (‘Smells Like Team Spirit,’ ‘Lithium,’ ‘All Apologies,’ ‘Come As You Are’) and Pearl Jam (‘Alive,’ ‘Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town’). Grunge Grass will next perform, as part of Williams’ New Year’s Eve gig at the Shoreline Ballroom in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
