Asheville-based Toubab Krewe will head up to New York City for a January 8 performance in celebration of the group’s new live disc. The show will take place at S.O.B.‘s, which seems to be an apt selection, since the venue places a particular focus on World music. Live at the Orange Peel was recorded at the band’s hometown venue on December 30 and 31 of last year. The eight tracks include guest appearances by fiddler Rayna Gellert and The Last Poets’ Umar Bin Hassan. As for December 30 and 31 of this year, Toubab Krewe will be in Denver at the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom with Panjea Featuring Michael Kang and Chris Berry and Kyle Hollingsworth’s new project, D.N.A. LAND.
