In late January, Drew Emmitt will return to the stage in Colorado with the latest incarnation of the Drew Emmitt Band. This marks the first time that Emmitt, long a Colorado fixture going back to his days in Leftover Salmon, will perform in the state with his current group (and the band’s first area shows since the release of Emmitt’s latest disc, Long Road). Banjo player Andy Thorn is the newest addition to the group, which also features Tyler Grant on guitar, Steven Sandifer on drums, and Eric Thorin on bass. The band will travel from The Aggie Theatre in Ft. Collins (January 27) to the Boulder Theater (January 28) to Denver’s Bluebird (January 29) to Three20South in Breckenridge (January 30) and then on to Emmitt’s hometown of Crested Butte at The Eldo on January 31. Emmitt’s next scheduled performance is on New Year’s Eve in Nashville with the Emmitt-Nershi Band on a bill with the Del McCoury Band.
