Just over two years ago, in October 2006, longtime Grateful Dead soundman Dan Healy first mixed Dark Star Orchestra during a three night run at San Franciscos Fillmore Auditorium. This fall he will move behind the board once more for the group’s Rex Caravan Tour. The first show will take place this Friday November 7, the first of two nights at Nightclub 9:30 in Washington, DC. The group will then travel up to the Northeast for a number of shows, through December 6. Along the way the band will perform two dates at New York City’s Nokia Theater, on November 28 and 29, the second of which will serve as the Black Tie-Dye Ball to benefit the Rex Foundation. In addition, all other tickets purchased for any of these shows will include a $1 per ticket donation to the Foundation.
