Georgia-based guitarist Benji Shanks is perhaps best known for his work in Capt. Soularcat, but also moonlights in The Band tribute group The Last Waltz Ensemble. So it makes sense that Widespread Panic invited Shanks onstage for one of The Bands signature tunes Tuesday night. Shanks emerged a few songs into Panics performance at Knoxville , TNs Tennessee Theater to help the group through a righteous version of Ophelia. Widespread Panic will perform at Cleveland, OHs Plain Dealer Pavilion this Friday, while The Last Waltz Ensemble will appear at Atlantas Smiths Olde Bar on August 1.
