The Zen Tricksters started out primarily as a Grateful Dead cover band, and over time built up a solid original repertoire. But, as is now tradition, the group will revisit its roots in August with a series of all Grateful Dead shows timed with both Jerry Garcias birthday and the anniversary of his passing: August 5 at Cambridge, MAs Regatta Bar, August 6 at Bridgeport, CTs Acoustic Cafnd, finally, August 7 at New Yorks B.B. Kings Blues Club. The members of the group are no doubt up on their Dead tunes having spent much of the year on the road with Donna Jean Godchaux MacKay as part of Donna & the Tricksters. DJ&T will hit the road this Friday for an appearance at Clinton, NJs Black Potatoe Fest.
