On Friday evening at First Avenue in Minneapolis, a number of area bands are coming together to help purchase musical instruments for local students. ‘A Night for Lyndale Elementary’ will feature music from God Johnson, Pert’ Near Sandstone and Down Lo & The Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins. U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar also will attend the event, while artist Chuck Hues will paint live on stage with the results featured in a silent auction to aid the cause. The night will be produced by Vega Productions is a 501©(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing music and art education in the MN public school system with 100% of net proceeds used to purchase musical instruments for the children of Lyndale Elementary School.
