Current New Groove BuzzUniverse was in Albany on Saturday night, opening for celebrated jazz/funk guitarist Melvin Sparks. At the close of the BuzzUniverse set, Sparks stepped up on guitar with the younger group for the BuzzUniverse original, ‘In the Sun.’ The resulting jam extended for nearly twenty minutes with Sparks and the members of BuzzUniverse trading musical themes. Sparks will next appear on Friday at Harlow’s in Peterborough, New Hampshire while BuzzUniverse is off until a December 28 appearance at The Old Bay in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
