This past Friday night, two former New Grooves of the Month, Cornmeal and Family Groove Company, shared a co-bill at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL. Some of the band members shared the stage together as well, with Cornmeal fiddler Allie Kral appearing with FGC for a take on Allen Toussaint’s Get Out of My Life (a Jerry Garcia Band staple). Cornmeal will next appear at the Miramar Theater in Milwaukee, WI on Friday, while on that same evening Family Groove Company is at The Spin in Indianapolis.
