In September, New Yorks Angel Orensaz Center hosted the debut performance by The Sway Machinery as part of the Rosh Hashanah themed event, Hidden Melodies Revealed. The all-star group is fronted by Balkan Beat Box singer/guitarist Jeremiah Lockwood and features drummer Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and bass saxophonist Colin Stetson (Arcade Fire), as well as the Antibalas team of tenor saxophonist Stuart Bogie and trumpeter Jordan McLean. On December 4, the unique collective will come together once again to celebrate Chanukah with a performance at Joes Pub that honors the Jewish Festival of Lights. The gig will also serve as the release part for a DVD documenting the groups performance at the Hidden Melodies Revealed. Antibalas will celebrate New Years Eve with the Disco Biscuits, Keller Williams and Bassnectar at Camden, NJs Tweeter Center.
