In an interview now up on the site, Luther Dickinson discusses the future plans of The Word. In Dickinson’s conversation with Randy Ray, he indicates that the group, which also features fellow North Mississippi Allstars Chris Chew and Cody Dickinson, along with John Medeski and Robert Randolph will return for a post-Christmas tour. While Luther suggests that the dates will be in the south, it now appears that three of the groups four shows will take place north of the Mason-Dixon Line. The Word tour will open on December 26 in Hartford (Webster Theatre) and then travel to New York City (Terminal 5), Philadelphia (Electric Factory) and Washington (9:30 Club). A limited number of pre-sale tickets will go on sale this Saturday at 10AM.
