Adam Deitch first made a name for himself playing drums with Lettuce and in John Scofields am band, but has recently focused his attention on producing. Recently, the New York-based musician helmed both 50 Cents My Gun Go Off and the Talib Kweli/Justin Timberlake collaboration The Nature, as well as material by KRS-One, MF Doom and J-Live. In September, however, the drummer will hit the stage with his Adam Deitch Project for a Wednesday night residency at New Yorks Club Midway. In addition to Deitch, this incarnation of the Project features bassist Stu Brooks (G-Unit, Dub Trio), guitarist Shmeeans (Robert Randolph), keyboardists Borahm Lee (Matisyahu) and Ray Angry (Real Live Show), turntabalist DJ Gravy and vocalist Jahdan (Noble Society). The group will perform at the New York venue on September 5, 12, 19 and 26.
