Stephen Perkins’ Banyan project is a relatively fluid endeavor. The two staples over the past few years have been the Jane’s Addiction drummer and his friend Willie Waldman on trombone. Over the next few months, Banyan is going to build on a relatively recent musical relationship and pick up a few gigs with Steve Kimock on guitar. The first of these is on June 8 at the Harmony Festival, on a night in which Banyan also will feature bassist Rob Wasserman and Melvin Seals on keys. Later in the summer Kimock will join Perkins and Waldman in an as yet unconfirmed Banyan line-up at the DogStock Festival (July 27, Melvern, KS) and the Riverview Festival (August 26, Chicago, IL)
