Widespread Panic closed out its spring tour this weekend at Orange Beach, ALs The Wharf with the aid of some longtime friends. On Friday, the group brought out DJ Logic for a segue that included both Dyin’ Man and Arleen. During an extended drum segment included in the segue Outformation percussionist Jeff ‘Bird Dog’ Lane, Jackmormons percussionist Steve Drizos, longtime Widespread Panic equipment manager Garrie Vereen, and Panic tour manager Steve Lopez also appeared onstage. A night later, Jerry Joseph emerged for a version of his own Climb To Safety. Widespread Panic will begin work on its next studio album before opening its spring out at Wakarusa in June.
