On New Years Eve, Toots Hibbert joined Govt Mule during the bands second set for a performance the group titled Dub Side Of The Mule.’ Last evening at the Fillmore in Denver, Hibbert appeared with the group once again, for a far shorter duration and with a different intent. Rather than focusing on the beats of Hibberts native Jamaica, the five musicians opted to showcase Hibberts soulful vocals with an interpretation of the Otis Redding classic, I’ve Been Lovin’ You Too Long. Additional guests are quite possible this evening when Gov’t Mule return to the Fillmore.
