This years Dunkin’ Donuts Newport Folk Festival will feature many familiar names. The Saturday August 4 date will offer an extended set by the Allman Brothers Band as well as music from North Mississippi Allstars, Assembly of Dust, Tom Morello, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. The Sunday line-up is a strong one as well, albeit in a slightly different direction with Alison Krauss & Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, Amos Lee and Alejandro Escovedo. Tickets will go on sale Monday, April 9 with a change this year as half of the facility at Fort Adams State Park will offer reserved seating and no coolers or blankets allowed while the other half will be first-come, first-served (and both coolers and blankets permitted).
