Umphreys McGee is enjoying a rare period off the road but that doesnt mean the groups individual members arent gigging around Chicago. Drummer Kris Myers recently joined Barry Brown and John Sabal at Joey’s Brickhouse, supplying lead vocals on a number of songs including Eye of the Tiger, She Talks to Angels, What a Wonderful World, and, for the third time this month, Dick in a Box. A few days later Jake Cinninger and Joel Cummins left their sofas to play with Mother Vinegar at Chicagos Kinetic Playground. Cummins at in on keyboards and keytar for Memories of Frederick and Latin Up Yer Ass. Cinninger then emerged for Kabump and Cold Beers at Mickey’s Pub.
