Galactic will open its east coast winter tour January 24 at Memphis New Daisy Theatre. The funk collective will then work its way north, hosting two night stands in Atlanta, Asheville, NC, and New York. The groups east coast run will loop south where its tour will culminate with Galactic’s traditional two nights Mardi Gras celebration at New Orleans Tipitina’s. Papa Mali will be on hand as support for much of the tour, with some extra special guests waiting in the wings for New York and Washington, DC. In 2007 the group will also issue its next studio album, which features a number of MCs and hip-hop DJs.
