In 1975, during the Grateful Deads hiatus crew members Steve Parish and Joe Winslow started a company to produce speaker cabinets for touring artists. The pair built on the experience (and backaches) they acquired with the Grateful Deads Wall of Sound in the creation of their Hard Truckers speakers. Ultimately the pair put aside the endeavor to resume a life on the road. However, the Hard Truckers have returned, with a new set of speaker cabinets they are now producing in conjunction with Tone Tubby. With a nod to their tie-dyed past, the truckers also are offering hand-dyed, one-of-a-kind, removable speaker grills, with the full details available at the companys new website.
