When Warren Haynes announced his departure from the Allman Brothers Band in the 1997, another southern guitarist, Jack Pearson, was brought on as his replacement. Though Pearsons tenure with the ABB lasted only three years, the Tennessee-based axe-ace has remained close with his former bandmates. In 2005, Pearson subbed for both Haynes and Derek Trucks in the Allman Brothers Band and, earlier this fall, Pearson spent time on the road with Gregg Allman and Friends. Last night Pearson joined Govt Mule onstage at Nashvilles famed Ryman Theater for Sco-Mule and Soulshine.
The evenings opening act, Donavon Frankenreiter, and his keyboardist, Eric Brigmond, also appeared on All Along the Watchtower following up a similar appearance on I Can’t Keep From Crying at Floridas Pompano Beach Amphitheater Friday. Govt Mule will appear at Mobile, ALs Saegner Theatre tomorrow .
