Govt Mule is the latest group regularly featured on this site to score some serious film time. The quartet has recently contributed a pair of songs, Soulshine and Slow Happy Boys, to the new movie Artie Lange’s Beer League. The films soundtrack will hit stores on September 19. In other Mule news, over the weekend a longtime Allman Brothers Band associate, Ron Holloway, appeared with the group on two occasions. On Friday, the saxophonist joined Govt Mule for a number of songs at Washington, DCs Warner Theater, including the debut of The Shape I’m In. A night later, Holloway joined Govt Mule once again at Charlottesville, VAs The Pavilion for a number of songs, capped off with a reggae version of Soulshine. Govt Mule dedicated its entire Saturday performance to Tamlya Williamson, also offering her favorite song, Child Of The Earth.
