As we reported yesterday, Widespread Panic guitarist George McConnell did not perform with the band last night at the Palace Theatre in Louisville. John Keane, who has been with the group throughout the summer tour on guitar and pedal steel, once again appeared throughout the evening. In addition, Sam Holt, the groups longtime guitar tech (and a touring musician in his own right with Outformation) added guitar to the second set.
The group has confirmed that it will issue a statement regarding the nature of McConnells departure a bit later today. Panic returns to the Palace tonight.
