In early 2004 saxophone player Joshua Redman went out on the road for a brief northeast run with Umphreys McGee. The relationship continued with the bands most recent studio disc as Redman makes a guest appearance on Safety in Numbers. Now, however, the seven musicians will collaborate in the live setting once again. On Friday August 25th Redman will return to the stage with Umphreys for an appearance at the 2nd annual F.U.N.K. Festival. This event will take place at Bill Monroe Music Park in Bean Blossom IN. This weekend, Umphrey’s is at the All Good festival, after which it will begin a brief tour with Galactic.
