Last night, Matisyahu opened for the Dave Matthews Band for the second time this week at Darien, NY’s Performing Arts Center. As expected, the Hasidic reggae superstar stayed around after his set, later joining the DMB for the title track from 2001’s Everyday. During the gospel-laced song, Matisyahu added a freestyle rap between based traditional Jewish chants. The Dave Matthews Band also continued to bust out its rarer material, offering ‘Joy Ride’ for the first time in two years. The DMB will perform at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center with ALO supplying opening duties.
