Rob Wasserman will join Lou Reed for a number of dates on his upcoming European tour. The former RatDog bassist has recorded with the Velvet Underground icon on a number of occasions, including Reed’s 1988 album New York, and his 1991 release Magic and Loss. Reed and Wasserman also recorded a track with Aaron Neville for 1988’s Duets disc and performed together in 1993 as part of Bill Clinton’s Inauguration Ceremony. Wasserman will rejoin Reed’s band for a June 3 performance at the Barcelona Primavera Festival, also appearing at Madrid’s Palacio de Congresos (6/4), Isle of Man’s Villa Marina (6/7-8), the Isle of Wight Festival (6/10-11), Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall (6/13) and Gateshead’s The Sage (6/14).
