On Friday, the Yonder Mountain String Band kicked off its spring tour with a two-night stand at Aspen, COs Wheeler Opera House. Local bluegrass heroes the Wayword Sons opened both nights and joined Yonder Mountain String Band onstage. On Friday, dobroist Anders Beck and mandolin player Robin Davis performed on Death Trip, Hill Country Girl and Traffic Jam. A day later, Beck and Davis returned alongside bassist Benny ‘Burle’ Galloway and keyboardist Greg Andrulis, augmenting Yonder Mountain for much of its set. Throughout the weekend, the Yonder Mountain String Band also debuted the material from its forthcoming self-titled album, including Night Out, Midwest Radio Gospel and, appropriately enough, East Nashville Easter.
