We have only a smattering of information but what we know is more than enough. We can confirm that five notable New Orleans-based musicians will join forces on Saturday at Tiptinas Uptown. George Porter Jr. will play bass, Anders Osborne and June Yamagishi will perform on guitar, Johnny Vidacovich will appear on drums and Tim Green will lend tenor sax. The band is being billed as the Good Stones, which initially leads one to think that perhaps they are delivering interpretations of Rolling Stones music. However, on further reflection, it occurs to us that one of the principals of NOLA-based Superfly Presents is named Richard Goodstone, so perhaps the show is a nod to him and his betrothed. Check it out yourself, as what we can say with some confidence is that it will be an estimable evenings entertainment.
