Last week, Galactic launched the second leg of its Coup De Gras tour, which takes the instrumental collective through the Midwest. During last night’s performance at Indianapolis, IN’s The Music Mill, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band supplied support duties and later joined Galactic during its performance. First, the horn section of Roger Lewis, Kevin Harris, Efrem Towns and Peanut emerged for a handful of songs near the end of Galactic’s first set, beginning with ‘Lickity Split.’ After set-break, Jamie McLean also emerged for ‘Clockstopper’ and ‘Bongo Joe,’ later returning during Galactic’s encore for ‘When the Levee Breaks.’ The Coup De Gras tour will continue Wednesday at Toronto’s The Opera House, with Mike Dillon’s GoGo Jungle stepping into Galactic’s support spot.
