Drummer Grant Calvin Weston was only seventeen years old when he started playing with Ornette Coleman’s Prime Time. In subsequent years he joined John Lurie’s Lounge Lizards and also toured with Lurie and Billy Martin as the John Lurie National Orchestra. This coming weekend he will perform with a different trio when he joins Gent Treadly for their two New York shows on Friday at Flannery’s in NYC and on Saturday at the High Street Roadhouse in Rye sitting in for Tom Kaelin.
