Earlier this month, Strangefolk guitarist Jon Trafton posted to the bands web site that he will not be ready to perform in time for the groups projected Eden festival. Trafton is recovering from surgery after being diagnosed with rectal cancer earlier in the year and still has to undergo additional chemotherapy. However, bandmates Erik Glockler, Luke Patchen Montgomery and Russ Lawton along with Stevie Jones are playing a handful of dates this summer as they await Traftons return to the stage (plus Patchen will do a few solo gigs, including this Saturday’s Camp Creek and on Thursday at Worcester’s Plantation Club). As for Trafton, he has indicated, I’d rather say no now than string everyone along only to have to pull out at the last second. It’s a major disappointment to me but it’ll be worth it later on when we can truly return to the stage and lay it down in top form.’
