Since Pink Floyds one-off performance at Live 8, speculation has continued to arise regarding a more extensive reunion. But, for the foreseeable future, bassist and visionary Roger Waters will have his hands busy with _ Ira_, his operatic history of the French Revolution. A three-act opera arranged for a full orchestra, soloists and choirs, _ Ira_ will hit stores on September 27 with a deluxe 60 page full-color booklet. The set will also include Waters’ lyrics, which were based on Etienne Roda-Gil’s original French libretto, as well as original illustrations created by Nadine Roda-Gil. In addition, _ Ira_ will come complete with a DVD documentary chronicling the making of the opera. The lauded songwriter has been working on the opera since the Bicentennial of the French Revolution in 1989.
