Last night, Milwaukee, WIs Summerfest rolled the traveling BIG Summer Classic into its Wednesday festivities. Each of BIG Summer Classics acts offered their own individual sets and many of the tandem-touring acts also proved their fraternal spirit by performing together. Keller Williams dropped by String Cheese Incidents performance for a version of his own Best Feeling. Williams also offered an interlocking set with Umphreys McGee, using Bob Marleys Trenchtown Rock as a bridge. During Umphreys McGees second set, the group also invited members of fellow Summerfest performers Jazz Mandolin Project onstage. Trumpeter MadDog joined Umphreys first during #5, later returning for Padgett’s Profile and Jimmy Stewart. Mandolinist Jamie Mansfield also augmented the group during Soul Food I during its encore.
