Bill Martin recorded two evenings at New Yorks Tonic this year with eight additional musicians and is drawing from this performance for the next release from his Amulet Records label. Billy Martin and Socket, January 14 & 15 2005, collects six extended improvisations from that evening. The roster also features Cyro Baptista (percussion), Grant Calvin Weston (percussion, trumpet), Eddie Bobcongas), Brian Marsella (melodica), Min Xiao Fen (pipa), Shelley Hirsch (vocals), Eyvind Kang (violin, bass, guitar, trumpet) and Shahzad Ismaily (bass, guitar, banjo, drums, percussion, melodica!!)The release date for this disc is this coming Tuesday with no additional Socket shows announced for the immediate future.
