Dark Star Orchestra returned to the stage Friday for the first time since keyboardist Scott Larneds passing, bringing with it temporary replacement Rob Barraco (The Dead, Phil & Friends, Zen Tricksters, Chris Robinsons New Earth Mud). Opening a four-show, Memorial Day weekend run with a touching rendition of Here Comes Sunshine, the Dead cover band further blurred the lines between tribute-act and torch bearer. Barraco will remain with Dark Star Orchestra for the remainder of its spring tour, which stops tomorrow at Lupo’s in Providence, RI.
