Tonight at Sweetwater in Mill Valley, CA RatDog guitarist Mark Karan will perform in a quartet with some of his notable friends. Mark Karans Buds will feature RatDog bassist Robin Sylvester along with
JT Thomas (Bruce Hornsby) on keys and Jimmy Sanchez (Kingfish, Roy Rogers) on drums. Karan and Sylvester will remain in the area for a RatDog gig tomorrow night at Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael, CA.
While were on the subject of Sweetwater, on Wednesday May 25, the Electric Apricot will perform. No additional information about the group yet appears although Gabby La La is opening and a reference to the Apricot appears on Les Claypools site so its fair to say that he will participate. Indeed, the imagery on Lesclaypool.com references the Grateful Dead Steal Your Face iconography (along with a Dylan nod) which has inspired all manner of Dead-related speculation.
