Some additional late night New Orleans news has crossed the desk at Jambands.com regarding Sunday nights Benevento Russo gig. The pair was slated to perform as a trio at the Old Point Bar with drummer Johnny Vidacovich. However, Joe Russo took ill and was unable to perform, yielding the stage to the new duo of Benevento and Vidacovich. The pair delivered an extended improvisation and then returned for set two with Mike Gordon on guitar. Gordon performed for about an hour before the outset of Led Zeppelins Heartbreaker at which point he handed off his guitar at to RANAs Scott Metzger who then closed out the set.
