The countdown to Jazz Fest is well underway with the action at the Festival Grounds proper to begin this Friday. While the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest extends over two weekends (April 22-24, April 28-May 1) there is plenty of music that also will take place in New Orleans on the off-nights (and late nights- for instance theres plenty of action via the Superfly During Jazzfest series). Two other interesting shows (of many) will take place at Tiptinas tomorrow night and on Tuesday April 26. Wednesday’s show is Housemans Lounge as the former Galactic vocalist will be joined by June Yamagishi, Raymond Webber, Ivan Neville, Thadeus Richard, Mark Perot and quite possibly, others. On the 26th it’s the New York To New Orleans Funk Collective featuring Eric Krasno, Adam Deitch, and Tim Green along with Neville, Yamagishi and many other potential participants.
