The Knitting Factorys Tap Bar will host a collection of players who promise an evening of music that will span Afro-Cuban jazz, soukous, funk and onward. La Buya is a sextet comprised of Skerik, Cochemea ‘Cheme’ Gastelum, Jessica Lurie, Isabel Pupo-Walker, Neil Ochoa and Alex Alvear. These musicians are playing this one off before dispersing all corners of the country (speaking of which, Jessica Lurie and her trio Living Daylights will expand to a quartet the following weekend for shows in Seattles and Bellingham, WA with Skeriks Synchopated Taint Septet member Joe Doria on keys).
