On Monday we reported that Marc Brownstein had rallied behind his old
friend, and pre-Bisco bandmate, Jeff in hopes of finding a heart donor for
his new born son Jordon Zane. We are happy to report that a heart became
available for Jordan on January 26, 2005. Jordan underwent cardiac
transplant surgery Wednesday evening, beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m.
and lasting roughly four and a half hours. Dr. Quaegebeur, who performed
the transplant, appeared at 11:30 p.m. and stated that ‘the [new] heart is
working well.’ He also cautioned that ‘we are not out of the woods yet,’
because transplant surgery is very complicated, requiring extensive
recovery and constant monitoring.’ However, Jordon Zane seems to be off to
a good start. Jordon’s story has become something of a grassroots success
story earning, appearances on several New York television stations and
stories on several local newspapers.
